The main reason we picked this cheap place was its distance from Angkor temple, close enough to ride a bicycle. The basic breakfast was just two pieces of toast, butter, and a small coffee. You can rent a bike for $2 a day, though they're simple ones with tiny wheels and no gears. We got a mountain bike from butterfly tours, about 100m away, for $5 a day, which was much better for the stony and sandy parts of the route. Tuk tuks are available too: $20 for the little loop, $30 for the big loop, plus $5 for sunrise or sunset, and $35 to Banteay Srei. Prices downtown are about $5 lower for each trip, even though it's farther from the temple. Room 109 was very dirty and smelled strongly of damp. A light exploded in my hand, and the bathroom light couldn't be switched off, so the door wouldn't close. We were moved upstairs the next day; that room was better, though it still smelled a little damp. The price was $10 for one night.

The rooms we had were really good, with a huge bed and an en suite toilet, facing a quiet area. Staff were polite and thoughtful, and breakfast was included: a tasty omelette with toast, butter, and coffee. You can also buy lunch or dinner there for about $2, roughly what tourists pay elsewhere, and the portions are generous. Across the road, a lovely woman sells homemade food for $1 or $1.50.

I've stayed here before, and it feels like a luxurious backpackers lodge. Breakfast comes with the price, and the kitchen is fine for making lunch or dinner. The rooms are clean and a decent size, with huge beds, bathrooms, ceiling fans, and air conditioning. The people here are awesome, helpful, and friendly.

It's a quiet spot between Angkor Wat and the city center, and in theory you could bike to Angkor Wat. I tried, but all the bicycles were broken and my back tire went flat along the way. Breakfast is average, and when it's busy they may ask you to wait 40 minutes. There were lots of mosquitoes in the room, though the fan was enough. Staff were friendly, but their Tuk Tuk trips to Angkor Wat seem overpriced because the driver has to pay the hotel a large commission.

For $8, the double room with a fan was all right. Breakfast is included, but it's only toast, egg, and tea. The sitting area had lots of mosquitoes, and insects also got into the room at night through the gap between the door and its frame. It's well placed for visiting angkor wat, but a long way from the backpacker district.
