Sokharoth Hotel

I spent three nights at Sokha Roth Hotel Siem Reap, a new luxury business hotel away from the city's hustle and bustle. The service was fantastic and personalized, with the staff catering to every whim. The restaurant was fabulous, and there's a stunning pool and gym. What more could you want? Paradise!

A good value for money in a quiet part of Siem Reap. The hotel is lovely, with well-maintained rooms and courteous, helpful staff. Breakfast is complimentary and offers a decent spread.

The location was a big plus for me: it was quiet and close to Angkor supermarket, and tuk-tuks waiting outside made getting around easy. The Wi-Fi was super fast and stable. Our room was clean and spacious, with lots of furniture, outlets, and a safe, though the air-con took a while to cool it down. Breakfast ran until 9:30am and had plenty to choose from, including bread, noodles, rice, and fruit. The cafe was reasonably priced. The cooked food and menu stayed the same throughout our three days, so a change every other day would have been nice. The staff answered my questions quickly and were very polite. They forgot to leave a do not disturb sign in our room, but brought one over promptly. They also let us shower after checkout, which we really appreciated. We stayed in June 2019, and I’d recommend the hotel. It already feels like good value for money.

We found about $100 missing from what we had left in the room after walking in on our second day and seeing two women going through our luggage. We reported it to the office straight away, then spent two days going back and forth with them trying to get our money returned. We asked them to call the police so we could file an insurance report if they would not refund us. They would not meet with us until 5pm, and then told us the police were closed and could not help. We watched the tapes with them: they showed the women entering our room two hours after we checked in and had just gone out, while the do not disturb sign was on the door. There was no need for them to clean or any other reason to be in there, but nothing was done. This ruined what had been a great time in Siem Reap. I’m heartbroken that we lost days trying to get management to return our money. Please, please do not stay here.
