Sovann Angkor Hotel

For the price, this is a beautiful hotel in a great spot with super friendly staff. Restaurants, cafes, a big supermarket, and the famous pub street are all within walking distance. The airport is apparently an hour away by car, and the Angkor Wat temples about 20 minutes. The clean pool area is large and not often busy, so you may have it to yourself. We had a pool-view room. It was a good size, as was the bathroom, and everything was clean, though the equipment is old. There's a fridge and coffee and tea setup. The gym looks well equipped at first, but the machines are really old. We got a free 15-minute foot massage as a welcome gift. The spa has more treatments at fair prices, and the service is very professional. Breakfast was okay, with soup, salad, fruit, French croissants, miso soup, eggs, rice congee, juice, yogurt, tea, and coffee.

The pool is huge and beautiful. I swam laps there every morning after breakfast, which was delicious and had both local and Western food. Our room was big, with a shower and a bathtub, and the staff were friendly and gave good service. We loved our four-night stay. The spa was wonderful too, and I'd recommend Malt for a massage.

We had a wonderful stay at Sokha Angkor Resort. Davy at the front desk and Soeun, with her warm personality and joyful spirit, made us feel especially welcome. Everyone provided exceptional service, including the doorman in the beautiful traditional uniform, who was helpful and very friendly. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with a basket of fresh fruit waiting when we arrived. The pool and other onsite facilities were a short walk away. Local tuk tuks were easy to find and inexpensive. We'd recommend the hotel to family and friends.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and we really liked the food at Takezono Japanese Restaurant inside the hotel. The breakfast buffet was good too. Our room was large, though a little old, and using the TV was complicated. We were too busy and tired from temple exploring to try the sauna or hot and cold bath. Things were fine until the power went out around 9pm and the generator wasn't working properly. I called reception to ask if they had a backup generator; they said yes, but their team still had to check it. After 15 minutes it started working, though it switched on and off about 15 times, every three seconds, before finally running properly.
