Viroth's Hotel

We spent January 3rd to 9th at Viroth Hotel and had a really positive stay. The staff were well trained, warm, and attentive throughout, and the gardens and grounds were beautifully maintained. Housekeeping was efficient, and the kitchen served good food. Breakfast felt cozy, with cooked dishes prepared to order. Nora, thank you for looking after us so well. We also enjoyed the pool during the hot afternoons and ordered drinks at the bar. My daughter became unwell, and the staff kindly made her ginger tea and congee and kept checking how she was doing. They also helped us arrange more sightseeing, including the killing fields, the museum, and Apopo Landmine Rats visitor centre, which we strongly recommend. The front desk booked the Phare Circus and Apsara Theatre for us as well. Our hotel package included airport pickup and drop off plus a two day tour. One day was in a vintage car, which the kids really enjoyed, and the sunrise visit to Angor Wat and the other temples is highly recommended. This is a very well managed boutique hotel, and staying here made our time in Siem Reap even better. We would gladly come back. The spa therapist was great, and the restaurant also served very good food beyond breakfast. We spent three nights at Viroth’s and found the place warm and comfortable, almost like a home. Staff went out of their way to look after us, and most seemed to know our names, room number, and plans for the day. The rooms are tastefully decorated, with excellent linens and toiletries. Breakfast was great too, with a small buffet and a fairly large menu cooked to order, and you can order as much as you like. Keep it up, team Viroth’s.

The spa really stood out for us. My husband and I had 90 minute four hand massages, a deeply restorative and refined experience unlike any we’d had across several countries and continents. The pool was another peaceful spot after visiting the temples, and breakfast was fantastic, with a thoughtfully arranged buffet and excellent à la carte choices. We found Viroth’s through Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and it lived up to the distinction for our Angkor Vat visit. Viroth’s Hotel and Viroth’s Villa sit beside each other, giving the stay a quiet, private feel. The hotel combines mid-century modern style with a real respect for Cambodian culture. Greenery, clean architectural lines, and a calm look make it feel more like a serene private residence than a commercial property. The rooms are spacious, filled with natural light, and immaculately designed. Locally inspired furnishings and carefully chosen amenities feel tasteful, restrained, and authentic. It’s rare to find a hotel that’s both distinctive in its architecture and emotionally grounding. Service and hospitality made the experience even better. Mr. Bross and Ms. Saiyon, the guest supervisors, caught our attention. Staff anticipated needs quietly and warmly, and were especially accommodating when we arrived late at night or had to leave at odd hours. Thoughtful, elegant, and memorable, Viroth’s hotel sets a high benchmark for boutique hospitality in Southeast Asia. As Hyatt Globalist guests, we highly recommend this small boutique hotel for an Angkor Vat and Siem Reap stay.

The staff made the biggest impression. Everyone was lovely, smiling, and eager to help, and from the moment we arrived we felt like part of a family. They took a genuine interest in us and offered far more advice and assistance than we expected. The hotel itself is stunning, tastefully decorated, and full of artwork, even in the bedrooms. It really feels like staying in an art gallery. Our bedroom was large and beautifully furnished, with an extremely comfortable bed. The pool area is lovely, surrounded by lush plants and trees, with comfortable loungers in both shade and full sun. Breakfast combines à la carte dishes with a buffet selection, and everything we ate was delicious. The hotel is on a quiet street but only a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Siem Reap. We were genuinely sad to leave and hope to return. We recommend The Viroth Hotel without hesitation. Probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in, outstanding!
