WAKA VILLA Private Resort & Spa 16 + Adults Only

I booked the Private Pool Villa for 9 nights, looking for quiet, luxury, and cleanliness. Waka delivered on all three. Each morning they brought a delicious breakfast to my villa. After 6-7 hours exploring Angkor Wat, Bayon, Baphuon, Ta Phrom, and 15 other temples inside and outside Siem Reap each day, the private pool was a peaceful place to unwind in the evening. Archaeology and art history are my hobbies. I didn’t go to Pub Street, so I can’t comment on how close Waka Villa is to it. For dinner, the fish amok was especially satisfying. I missed out on their highly rated Spa. Hot water was a problem on a couple of days, but the staff responded quickly. They even gave me another villa at no charge so I could have a hot shower early the next morning. Thanks to Mr. Seam, Rathana, Phalla, the breakfast delivery girl with dimples, and all the staff for such personal service. Mr. Seam deserves special mention. He planned temple visits around my instructions, arranged a guide, taxi driver, and tuk tuk drivers, and handled my last-minute schedule changes without a fuss. I’ll book Waka Villa again when the spirits of Suryavarman II and Jayavarman VII call to me in my dreams.

This was our favourite place during our travels around Asia. The villa was beautiful, with a private pool, and it felt like a peaceful little paradise on the edge of Siam Reap. It was an easy walk into town, and even quicker by tuk tuk. We were treated like royalty throughout our stay. The staff were warm and couldn’t do enough for us. They picked us up at the airport, gave us drinks when we arrived, and provided free laundry, a free mini bar, and mosquito spray. Everything came with a genuine smile. The complex was small and personal, and our three-bedroom villa was gorgeous. It was quiet while we were there, but the staff made it clear that this thoughtful service is part of the place’s culture, so we can imagine it continuing when it’s busier. Highly recommend considering it if you visit Siam Reap.

We spent our honeymoon at Waka Villa, and the help started before we even reached Cambodia. Rathana welcomed us warmly on whatsapp, arranged our pickup from the bus terminal, and answered our questions. On arrival, the smiling staff gave us a lovely welcome and check-in was smooth. Our room was amazing. Everything was very clean, the kitchen staff were lovely, and the food was delicious. We made good use of our private pool day and night, especially after long outings in the humidity. If you’re heading out for sunrise, let the staff know and they’ll prepare a lovely breakfast box to take along. The location was peaceful and still close to the main areas. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend Waka Villa. Thank you to all the lovely staff 🥰

The resort is kept immaculate, and the villas feel comfortable and soothing in every way. What stood out most was the well-trained staff. Some seemed to have a natural gift for service, while others went further with an eye for details I’d forgotten were possible. This was the most peaceful place I’ve ever stayed.
