WORLD WALKERs - Hostel

I was only trying to check in, and it turned into my worst hostel experience in four months of travel. I booked three nights at $5.49, but on arrival they demanded $20. When I asked why, they shouted that if I wouldn't accept their prices, they wouldn't have me. I was confused and asked again, which only made things worse. They literally threw me out. I still don't know what I did wrong. Just sad, and I'll report it to hostelworld too.

We never got to stay, and the manager kept our $44 deposit. We had booked two nights, but when illness stopped us reaching Siem Reap on the first day, we called at 9am, well before check-in, to ask about arriving the next day and still staying two nights. They said that was fine and they'd get the rooms ready. Then the next day the manager called, yelling that we'd missed the previous night and had to pay for it as well as the two nights booked. We said we'd discuss it when we arrived. An hour later he called again, wouldn't let us remind him he'd agreed to the change, yelled for five minutes, then said we couldn't stay at all. He wouldn't return the deposit even though we'd never stayed. They stole our money. Never stay here.

The stay itself is fine, but World walker hostel, uncle's hostel, and Aunty's hostel are all the same place. They charge $2 a day for a separate fan. There’s no water refill, and you have to buy toilet paper and everything else.

Warm nights in the dorm since there’s no aircon, but it was clean and the people were friendly. The location is great, with the main nightlife right outside, plenty of restaurants, and a convenience store nearby.
