Yolo Hostel

The staff were lovely and always ready to help, and the price is unbeatable. We stayed in a 16-person dorm. There was just one bathroom, with a shower and toilet in the same room, which got a bit awkward at times but wasn’t a major problem. The atmosphere at Yolo Hostel is relaxed and friendly, and there’s a beautiful yard with a bar, pool table, and swimming pool.

We planned on three nights but extended twice and ended up staying a week. The staff were great, the guests were fun, and the vibe was amazing. There were loads of organized activities, from pub crawls and beer pong to killer pool. It was really cheap and the food was good too, especially the Chicken burger. Shout-out to Tony, Tom, Mandy, Monster, and everyone who made our stay so good!

I arrived in Cambodia sure I wouldn’t stay in a hostel, thinking they were all full of drunk teenagers. Yolo completely changed my mind. The staff, a great mix of western and Khmer, were the best part for me: warm, welcoming, and always happy to help. They have the usual dorm rooms, plus private bungalow-style rooms for only a few dollars more. I can’t say enough kind things about this place, and I’ll definitely return.

In five days, my room was never cleaned. The AC was loud and dripped onto my mattress, and there was no security at all: rooms were left open and nobody checked who came into the hostel. The common areas were covered in after-party trash, so we had to eat at dirty tables. I shared a room with two staff members, and clothes were all over the room and even the bathroom. You can definitely find a better hostel in Siem Reap, much closer to the center.
