Cloud 9 Bungalows

The view really is fantastic. The bungalows are quaint, too. That's the good part. The rooms weren't very clean. The sheets and towels were clean, but the fan had a thick coating of dust and there were cobwebs all over. The electric instant-hot-water shower worked okay, though the buildup around it looked like a wasp nest. The property is getting run down: a handrail came off when one of the kids leaned on it, other rails were missing, and menu pages had been used to patch holes in the thatched roofs. The advertised extras didn't live up to the descriptions. Breakfast was basically a breeze, the bar had nothing to drink, and the menu was hard to read, partly because pages had gone into roof repairs. The family-friendly claim was also questionable, given the dehydration and risk of falling through a fence. I'm being sarcastic, but the place didn't feel safe. There was one woman who seemed to be running everything. She looked continually puzzled that guests were there. Our booking for five had been made well in advance, yet she seemed surprised when we arrived, and there were just two 500 ml bottles of water for us. Asking for a couple more got the same surprised look. The kids also seemed to have been bitten by bed bugs. The area around it can be noisy, with nightlife going until around 4 a.m. on a Wednesday. That's useful if you're looking for nightlife, but families wanting a decent night's sleep may find a better option. The noise didn't affect my rating, though it is worth knowing. The place was rated 2.5 stars, so I wasn't expecting much.

Cloud 9 was a lovely place to stay, and the location made getting around easy. The food was lovely and the customer service was great. Five stars doesn't feel like enough.

The bungalows are decent and have the basics you need. Be prepared for lots of stairs since it's in cloud 9. Tell your driver to use the other route for drop-off, not serendipity Blvd!

Really liked this little hideaway, with its wave-sounding bungalows and nice balconies. There's a local bar nearby that can get a bit loud sometimes, but it's still a great spot.
