Al Camar Lodge

The room was a bright spot: comfortable, nicely arranged, with air conditioning and a good bathroom. The staff were also friendly and helpful, and check-in was smooth, with a complimentary juice. There’s a small private cove nearby that opens onto a beach at low tide. But the hotel’s website makes it sound more luxurious than it is. It lists three bars, two restaurants, and a nightclub, while we found one dining area, one bar, and what looked like an abandoned space that might once have been another bar. The restaurant setup was confusing, with no menu or prices, no staff in the room, and unclear hours. The food was good, though choices were very limited, such as fish or meat, and three courses were expensive. Breakfast and the other meals were okay to good. Water was only sold in small, costly plastic bottles. The building and facilities need attention, the Wi-Fi was very poor, and the rocky shore location is fairly isolated, about 20 minutes north of the airport. I’d have rated it higher if the website had described things more accurately. Given how isolated it is, I’d choose another option.
