Koi Resort Saint Kitts, Curio Collection by Hilton

Having a car made getting around the island much easier. It’s a big place, and seeing things without driving would mean taking taxis everywhere, which gets expensive. At the hotel, the pool beside the beach was nice, and breakfast was good. V was a great server, and the salmon we had on several evenings was delicious. We even complimented chef Sanjay on it, he’s really talented. The rooms are great, and I think they all have balconies with ocean views. I’d read complaints about the beach, but I don’t really get them. Walk to the right and you can follow the beach by the golf course, like lots of locals do.

The garden setting is very peaceful, with nature all around, so it seems well suited to a quiet vacation. The hotel is lovely and recently renovated, but there isn’t a usable beach, though there is a free shuttle to nearby beaches. Edris in the dining room was very pleasant, and Kimberly and Keneshia were at the front desk.

I’d recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a calm, decent place to relax, listen to the sea, and daydream. I spent almost three weeks at Koi Saint kitts and know several hotels on the island. This is the quietest and cleanest I know. The restaurant team were friendly and professional, and the food was fresh, including the fruit and vegetables. I’m very grateful to chefs Sanjay and Mr Rajath, and to all the restaurant staff. For special requirements, just speak with Mr Vipin, the sales manager.

The first couple of days were fine. The restaurant service was slow, though the people there were great, and the front desk was welcoming. Getting to a beach where we could actually swim cost us more in taxis than the hotel, since the location is far from everything. On day three, housekeeping never came. Overnight on day four, the smoke alarm woke us several times. We found water all over the bathroom floor and outside it. Housekeeping had come, but only made the bed. They didn’t change the sheets or clean the tub or shower, and the sand we’d tracked in was still there after four days. Later, we came back to a cockroach in the room. The hotel could only offer another room. They gave us no other accommodation and said a manager would email “sometime next week.” I understand the cockroach wasn’t their fault, but after the hundreds we spent on food, even a discount, given that continental breakfast was $20, or some other gesture would have helped. We stayed about four days and won’t be back.
