The hot shower was the highlight, with water pressure better than at some four-star hotels I’ve stayed in. My bunk bed was comfortable and I slept well, and the room was warm. You can put together your own breakfast with bread, coffee, tea, and eggs, and there’s a nice Korean restaurant downstairs with friendly staff and good food. The location is great for such a reasonable price. I’m sure Andong has better places, but this was excellent for the money.

It’s a quiet place with a friendly owner, and a simple breakfast of eggs, toast, tea, and coffee is included. The guesthouse is next to a traditional market and very close to the train station. It’s probably the cheapest of the few guesthouses in Andong, though it wasn’t the cleanest place I’ve visited. Finding it can be a little tricky: go through the porch, then turn left and head up the stairs.

The rooms are somewhat small, but there’s a roomy shared area and a kitchen. It’s easy to walk to the railway station, and local buses stop nearby, so getting around is convenient.

We were very happy with our one-night stay. The host made us feel welcome, the place was fairly clean and comfortable, and breakfast was simple. The location was great too.

Peter was especially nice and gave us directions wherever we needed to go, including bus routes, after we dropped our things in the room. Later, we all ate and had drinks together in the evening. It was so much fun, and the place was lovely too.
