We had a really comfortable stay. The beds and pillows were so good that I slept better than I ever have away from home. There were plenty of towels, a huge pack of wet tissues, and water. The place had three bedrooms, a modern shower room, and a small lounge, and the owner was lovely. It's about a 15-minute taxi ride from Andong Bus Terminal, with buses just a few minutes' walk away. Lots of different restaurants are also close by.

We were welcomed outside the guesthouse and shown the facilities, including the Wi-Fi and refrigerated water. The ondol-style room had a cosy wooden interior and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a wet room with the shower over the sink. Its ceiling was low, but the water pressure was good and it didn't feel cramped. Check-in and check-out were easy, and getting into the property at any time was simple. We spent one night near the centre of Andong, just a few minutes' walk from the main city centre, and it made a great base. Andong is hard to explore without a car, but the main attraction, Andong folk village, was around an hour's walk on flat ground. The taxi from Hahoe village, where we'd started the previous night, cost around £20.
