Queen Motel

The couple running this place made the stay feel more like a guesthouse than a motel. They were kind, genuinely cared about their guests, and were always ready to help. There’s even free laundry service. The room had everything I needed, including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, a toothbrush and toothpaste, plus a TV and kettle. Downstairs there’s hot and cold water, a coffee machine with ground coffee, and bread with a toaster. If you’re coming to Andong and want a taste of Korean hospitality, stay here.

The location worked well for getting to downtown, the market, restaurants, and the river. The room setup was a small entry hall and a separate room for sleeping, with the shower and toilet in another room. It was big enough, though water leaked in our case. We slept well. Paying and getting the key was quick and straightforward, with no unnecessary explanation. Breakfast was simple, just bread, jam, and hot chocolate or coffee in the corridor. There’s no kitchen.

The room was tiny and nothing like the pictures. The sheets were dirty, and the bathroom was horrible. Even one star feels too generous. Avoid this place.

A five-minute walk gets you to Homeplus mega mart, and the bus stop is about another five minutes away. You can catch the 246 there to Hahoe village. The place sits in a corner of an alley. The room was generally clean, and the hot water worked. They provide basic bread and coffee. It’s an okay place to stay.
