Brown Dot Hotel Minam

We stayed for a week, and the location was peaceful. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, and a taxi ride to the livelier part of town takes around 10-15 minutes. The lobby looks nice, the Wi-Fi was quick, and the windows were double-glazed with mosquito screens. There was a bathtub, though we didn't feel like using it. The room felt dark and chilly, almost like a basement, because the ceiling was so low. It hadn't been cleaned properly between guests: there was hair around the room, and the bathroom slippers were damp. The slippers provided were also worn and smelly, so bring your own. A gap around the window let in large mosquitoes, and there were bloody marks on the walls. The bathroom had mold in the tile joints, and shower water ran straight into the drain by the toilet. Beneath the sheets was a squeaky plastic mattress cover that kept making noise. The bedside chargers didn't work, and the mirror was set so low it seemed made for dwarfs. There is a washing machine on the 3rd floor, but it looked dusty and dirty, so we used a nearby laundromat instead. There wasn't anywhere interesting to go nearby. Trash has to be handed in at reception, and the staff didn't speak English at all. I wouldn't recommend it.
