Busan 2 Heaven Dongrae

The cigarette smell is hard to escape. Staff said there was air freshener, but the room still reeked; opening the window and running the air purifier didn't help. I booked because it was a 3-star hotel with good reviews on accommodation apps, but I wouldn't expect too much. The bathroom layout is awkward too: the shower and sink share one cubicle, while the toilet is in another, with a gap under its door because there's no rubber seal. After using the toilet, I had to go to the separate shower room to wash my hands. Water from the shower runs onto the floor and was still splashing around after nine hours overnight. Only stay here if cigarette smells don't bother you.

It's conveniently close to both Dongrae and Sajik-dong. The rooms smelled damp and musty, and I found mold, hair, and rust in the bathroom. I tried the karaoke briefly, and that was clean. The dining area for breakfast was decent. The glamping area had bugs, and most of the blankets, chairs, and utensils felt a bit shady, though the atmosphere was great. The hammock was the only thing I didn't like.

The room setup was a problem from the start. I paid for two extra guests because the room was advertised for up to four, but there was only one double bed and one single, with no extra bedding. The front desk brought one set only after I asked. Check-in was another surprise: I booked through "Yogiyo" and only noticed after paying that it was 8 PM. I expected an earlier time, as most places called hotels check in around 3 or 4 PM. I chose this place because its reviews looked better than other nearby options, but I left with mostly bad memories after staying June 29-30, 2024. The room was full of cigarette smoke and hard to breathe in. Opening the window and running both the air purifier and AC didn't clear it. The front desk said a previous guest had smoked and there was nothing they could do, even though the room was supposed to be non-smoking. Smoke alarms are common now, so relying on guests' conscience doesn't seem like a solution. I hope they address these shortcomings.

The bathroom was clean, but the tub looked designed more for appearance than practical use, and there wasn't a towel rack. The room itself was very clean too. There was a Seragem massager, though I couldn't figure out how to use it and didn't find it helpful.
