De Homme Hotel

The rooms and facilities were amazing, some of the best I've seen. Still, the weekend rate was ten times higher, and I was told early entry would cost 8 euros for every hour before check-in. When I asked whether I could travel around the country by bus, I was told it would be very difficult and I wouldn't manage it if I wasn't Korean. That discouraged me from visiting Korea, and I left the country a day later.

The location worked really well, and the rooms were small, which I expected. They did clean every day. The receptionists weren't very friendly and could've been more helpful.

We stayed five nights in mid-March and paid AUD388, about AUD78 a night. Our room was 3013, Bridge View. The area is an easy, relaxing walk from Gwangalli beach, and once you step outside and turn left, there's a great view of the Gwangandaeyo (Diamond) Bridge. Dehomme hotel is in the Ocean Bridge Building, which has several hotels. On the ground floor we found a Nice to C U convenience store, Starbucks, a bingsu dessert place, an arcade, and restaurants nearby. The room and bathroom were simple but decent. Breakfast ran from 7:30 to 9 and included bread, jam, honey, cereal, instant cup noodles, milk, and apple juice. The room had a kettle, mini fridge, paper cups, hairdryer, toothbrush, and basic amenities. A few things weren't ideal. Check-in is after 4 p.m.; we arrived at 3, and I think early check-in was about 10,000 won extra. There were no bath towels, only hand towels, though you could ask for more. The mattress was soft, and we each had one pillow. Comfort is personal, but it wasn't the best for us. Gwangan Train Station is around a 20-minute walk away. The coffee machine in the shared walkway was weak, and there was no instant coffee or tea in the room. A Saturday taxi from Busan Station took about 35-40 minutes in peak traffic and cost under 16,000 won. Use the lift on the right, Tower A. If you arrive before 4, you can leave your luggage next to the check-in desk. I added photos to my Google review.

We booked two nights but checked out the next morning. The room smelled foul and moldy as soon as we entered, and it seemed to be coming from the toilet. Mold covered the bathtub's edges and corners, and the walls, windows, and bed frame were dirty and moldy. The ceiling was damaged, especially near the air conditioner. We chose the Hinoki room because the pictures on trip.com looked nice, but the actual room was smaller, dirty, and smelled bad. When we told the staff, they said the wooden tub was just discolored. They still strongly refused a refund, even though we explained why and left at 10 a.m. It was a very disappointing stay, and I won't return.
