Shilla Stay Busan Haeundae

Even with the holiday crowds, the service stayed prompt and well organized, and the staff were warm and professional. Shilla Stay Haeundae is clean and attractive, right in the center of Haeundae, so it was easy to get around and explore Busan. I had a very pleasant stay and would happily come back.

The room stayed unbearably hot throughout my four days there, never dropping below 28 C/82 F. A floor fan was the best solution the hotel could offer, and I was uncomfortable the whole time. The building itself looks lovely, with great views and a premium location. The facilities were good and the rest was generally what you'd expect from a hotel of this caliber.

The service here left me with a bad impression. Staff came across as arrogant and, when guests asked for things, seemed focused on the money. It felt like they had forgotten they work in hospitality. I'm unsure whether a language barrier played a part, but the unfriendliness makes it hard for me to imagine returning. I'd tell friends to consider Lotte Hotel Busan, Paradise Hotel Busan, or even the older The Westin Josun Busan. People may associate Shilla Hotel with delicious food, but I wouldn't apply that expectation to this property. I hope they make improvements soon.

I was awake and sweating all night because the thermostat had been taken out of guests' control and set to 26C. What an awful way to spend a vacation. It felt miserable and like a waste of money. I wouldn't stay here even if it were free.
