TRT Hotel

The location worked well, about a six-minute walk from Lotte and the subway. I liked the terrace, and the room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and decent amenities. There was a faint sewer smell in the bathroom all the time. Rain made it stronger, and the odor reached the room. The toilet was also fussy and needed several flushes even for tissue. My odd-numbered room faced the rail tracks at the back, so train and traffic sounds came through loudly. I had to sleep in earplugs. Staff helped when I asked, but weren’t welcoming, with no greeting or smiles. I wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

The neighborhood was lively, with restaurants, bars, clubs, and different shops, and the area itself was okay. The room was dirty, though: hair on the floor, a grimy bathtub, and some kind of liquid on the floor. The towels had stains and didn’t look clean.

I was here on a group tour and ended up very disappointed. The room smelled of sewage in the morning, and it kept getting worse until I asked to move rooms. There were mosquitoes, and the bed was hard, with dirty, stained sheets and pillows. The first room had only a screen where the bathroom door should have been. The shower and bidet shared the same space, which was awkward. They provided face towels rather than bath towels, though the front desk seemed to have extras ready for anyone who asked. The air conditioner had to be switched on separately with its remote. The amenities were poor: a kettle, little paper cups for hot water, two tea bags, and a can of insect spray (see photo).

The beds were good, but the room felt dusty and greasy, and the hotel is in a less pleasant part of Busan. Breakfast was another letdown. The coffee machine stayed broken throughout our two-night visit, so there was no coffee or tea. On the second day there wasn’t even any toast left. The restaurant felt greasy, and when we came down, the kitchen staff were asleep on the counter. We’d booked a room with breakfast, then learned at check-in that it covered only one person. The second person would cost another 10,000 Won per day. We arrived at noon after an overnight flight, but check-in was at 4 pm, and early access cost an extra 40,000 Won.
