Changwon V3 Self Check-In Motel

For 17,000 won, it's incredibly cheap, and the facilities are exactly what you'd expect for the price. If you're not too fussy about where you sleep, you might recommend it. But there was mold in the room, and the shower head was broken, spraying water in five streams. The toilet paper got wet, then dried, more than once, and the towels and bedding smelled musty. You could hear people snoring in other rooms too. At that price, even five stars doesn't feel like enough. Compared with the average motels I usually stay in, though, even three stars feels too generous.

The smell was part of what made this stay so bad. I only booked because it was 28,000 won a night, but after paying I left feeling ripped off. The shower barely fits one person, and with no lip on the tub, water sprayed across the room. I hung my padded coat up, but moisture got through the wallpaper and soaked it. It was unusable, so I had to bag it and take it to the dry cleaners. The worst motel I've stayed in Korea.

For the low price, I didn't have any particular complaints besides the cigarette smell. It was so strong and embedded that I couldn't bear it.

There are loads of good restaurants nearby, so I want to come back. The owner is friendly, and this small unmanned hotel was really convenient. I also enjoyed using Bukmyeon Hot Springs at a reasonable price, and the accommodation competition makes it great value. One drawback: after parking, you have to walk along where people pass by, with no sidewalk.
