ENFORD Hotel

The Plaza is right in the center of town, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, malls, and entertainment around it. Taxis are easy to find, and most things are walkable. It was comfortable for my stay, and the price seemed reasonable for international-level accommodation. The hotel also works well for business conventions, group retreats, or a tourist visit, with appropriately sized meeting rooms and enough supporting facilities. The frontage is grand, and there's a large lobby. Rooms are spacious enough and have the usual amenities, including WiFi, a work table, and a computer. The facilities are good, and the food and beverage outlets offer international dishes alongside local food. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and worth recommending. Staff are polite and helpful, though not everyone is fully comfortable speaking English. Check-in and checkout were quick and trouble-free. A walk around the surrounding area could be interesting, as several new buildings have opened. Being centrally located also makes sightseeing around Cheongju fairly easy. The traditional morning Main market in Cheongju isn't far; the front desk can help with it.

The staff were friendly and the place was pretty clean, but I don't think it was worth what it cost. The room felt dated and awkward, basically a huge area with lots of empty space. Gym access was limited to once a day, and a week's worth of laundry ran about 60$. There was just a weird vibe. I switched to the Lacky hotel mid-week, which seemed much better for half the price.

The staff were friendly and always smiling, though communication in the spoken language was a constant problem. The hotel was good, but the rooms didn't feel up to five-star standards.

The place felt deserted, and I wouldn't recommend it at all. In my first room there was mold on the carpet and on the safe, and nothing was restarted. The tea station above the minibar had tea bags, cups, and a kettle, but no sugar, sweetener, or teaspoons, and not even coffee. Room services like WiFi and electricity only worked after inserting the room card into a reader on the wall. That was annoying, especially since the router took time to activate every time I came back in. All the lights were controlled from a device on the counter near the bed, and there was no way to switch on just one lamp.
