Hostel Espace

The room felt damp and stuffy, with mold, a sewer smell, and noise coming through the floors. It was small, too. On the plus side, the interior, location, and parking space were good.

The rooms were pretty clean, and the building itself was fine. For a Chuncheon trip, I’d recommend it. Book early if you want to stay on a Saturday, since it’s likely to fill up. There’s no laundry, so you’ll need to wash things yourself or go to a laundromat about a kilometer away.

The community room has a kitchen, refrigerator, and plenty of dishes, since eating in the guest rooms isn’t allowed. There’s also a second-floor vending machine for drinks and cup noodles. It took cards, but during my four days there it wasn’t restocked, so I only managed to buy cup noodles. In my room, the TV sat a bit low, while the towel rack was high but still usable. The room had air conditioning, a hairdryer, and a bedside charger. The bathroom was clean, hot water worked well, and disposable shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cleansing foam, and toothpaste were supplied. I noticed a slight cigarette smell in the bathroom at night.

The staff were friendly, and the older building is well maintained. There is a slight smell because of the building’s age, so people sensitive to smells may want to keep that in mind.
