The first-floor international cafe opens later than the first flight, which was the main drawback. Otherwise Daegu Airport was decent, with easy access to the first and second floors, free wireless charging ports, and two handy convenience stores, E-Mart24 and CU, stocked with drinks, food, and snacks. I wish filming the taxi and takeoff were allowed, since the approach and the aircraft in the hangars are cool to see, though I understand the military is the reason. Overall, the airport was okay.

There are clean restrooms, lots of seats, food options, drink machines, free WiFi, and charging stations, so it’s a comfortable airport for waiting. Restaurants and convenience stores are also within a 10-minute walk outside. Since it’s small, print your boarding pass at the self-service counter before checking your luggage. Handy if you have a layover or time to wait.

If you don’t have a Korean visa and are using this airport to transfer, please think twice. I flew T way air, a small airline, and they charged me after checking my carry-on, and even water cost money when I asked for it. I had a 13-hour wait at Daegu Airport, but there wasn’t a restaurant or anything else, and I had no Korean money for the vending machine. Luckily there was water, hahaha. Worst airport, and T way air was the worst airline, I think. These low-budget Korean options can hurt Korea’s image. Saving a little with small airports and airlines can mean paying for it in comfort.

Security and customs were very quick, which was a plus. The airport is tiny, though. Get snacks before security because there’s just one small cafe inside, seating is limited, and there’s only one restroom past security.
