Daegu Boing Hotel

Nice.

I paid the original price and ended up in the largest, more expensive room, even though I noticed other rooms were available on the floor with their doors open. The hotel is spacious and in a convenient spot, but the staff handling left a bad impression. I arrived on April 27, 2024, and used a translation app to explain that I’d booked for April 29 by mistake and ask whether I could switch to that day and pay the difference. The receptionist said it was fine and let me check in right away, but told me only the biggest four-person room was available. I then contacted the booking site to cancel the original reservation, and customer service said the hotel refused cancellations and refunds. So I was stuck paying the original booking price for that room. I’m sure I won’t stay here again. It’s even left me with a worse impression of Korean people.

My family was having a rough time, so we put up with this place, but it cost a lot for what it was. Calling it a motel feels generous, it’s more like an inn. We booked at the last minute through Agoda for a family trip. In the middle of summer they had the boiler on, and condoms were laid out. There was a sink in the room, plus a veranda opening onto the hallway, and the smell was another problem. The air conditioner looked like it was from the 80s. Cooling down meant sitting there meditating and waiting for it to work on your mental health. I wanted to swear, but my mouth hurt, so I held back.

That bathtub was such a relief after a long day on foot, especially with a flight to catch the next day. The room was clean and had a nice atmosphere, and it worked really well for a layover. Daegu Airport is within walking distance. Google Maps doesn’t offer a walking route, but getting there on foot is easy.
