I was only there to sleep and didn’t get any service. I’d come for the low price, so the age of the place didn’t bother me much, but the hygiene was awful. Bugs were flying around, and it reeked of cigarettes. There was even an ashtray in front of the sofa, like they’d been running it since smoking in rooms was allowed. The air conditioner had no remote, so I kept switching it on and off without being able to set the temperature. I barely slept.

Getting around was easy since it’s near Dongdaegu Station. The room was clean, didn’t smell of smoke, and I slept comfortably. I accidentally left my wallet behind when I checked out, but the kind owner helped me get it back. They seemed like a genuinely nice person. When I’m in Daegu, I think I’ll stay at this motel from now on.

I had a good weekend away for a low price. The nearby motels are shutting down or getting demolished, though, and that makes the area feel a little eerie.
