Daegu Grand Hotel

There's a Starbucks Reserved store on the first floor, which is handy, but not much nearby, so the location isn't convenient. The hotel is said to have a long history, though it doesn't have much character. The bathroom facilities are in poor condition and weren't clean. There was hair from previous guests on both the shower and bathtub.

The staff were very nice, though their English was limited. The hotel also has a good gym and separate saunas for men and women. Our breakfast was included and pretty good, with both Korean and Western options, and I'd recommend it if the price isn't too high. We stayed two nights and found the location pretty good, just off the main road and about a 12-minute drive from the KTX train station. We had two rooms. They were a decent size with plenty of space for luggage, but felt dated, with old carpet and bathroom tiles, little counter space, and a phone-like device controlling the lights that made it feel like the 1980s. The beds were okay, a bit firm, but I slept fine. The air conditioning worked much better in one room than the other. It seems like the rooms are the part that needs refurbishment most.

We expected the rooms to look dated, but ours was surprisingly spacious, with a double bed, and didn't seem old at all. We have no other complaints, though the broken knob for switching the water to the shower head meant we had to push the diverter up with our fingers. Not ideal. Thank you.

It's a decent business hotel, but it's old. Parking is a hassle, especially if your car has low clearance, and there's no EV charging.
