The room was dirty when we arrived, with a strange smell and marks on the walls that looked like the result of a “happy ending.” My colleague and I had booked a twin room with separate beds through an agency, but found only one double bed. We showed the receptionist our reservation. Communication was difficult because of the language barrier, though there are no hard feelings about that. He said the agency had made an error. When we pointed out that the booking said “twin room,” he joked that “twin” meant a double bed in Korean. That seemed odd, but we then showed him the separate beds note right beside it, which made the booking clear to us. He kindly offered to move us to a room with two beds, but said we would have to pay almost half the price again. We asked him to discuss it with the agency. After a two day delay, the agency said nothing could be done because no other two bed rooms were available and our room was subject to availability. Yet we could apparently have sorted it out on the first day if we paid. It left us feeling scammed, since they could have handled things properly but we were left with an uncomfortable stay. I can’t recommend this place.

The front desk has a kiosk, and there are lots of supplies on the second floor. The place is clean and the facilities are good.

Room 303, 4.05, Daejeon Jung-ri 250403. Amenities were provided, along with a computer, Netflix, bottled water, and drinks. The window looked onto the next building. Parking is limited, and the owner is blunt.

Gallery Motel seems to have been renamed or rebranded as Hotel Artbin. This was the best place I’ve ever stayed.
