Daejeon Wolpyeong Hotel Continew

The bed has a nice amount of cushioning, and I like that it's firm since I prefer a hard bed. I'll have to find out the brand. The place is friendly and clean, with good hot water and drainage. Parking is easy in the large lot, and there's also a public lot next door in Wolpyeong-dong if needed. My friend used it and said it seemed to cost around 3,000 won per hour. E-Mart Traders is close by for picking up anything you need. I booked because the breakfast reviews were good. I hadn't tried it yet because I was going to sleep, but I said I'd add a comment or photos after breakfast the next morning. Update: breakfast is delicious.

Breakfast really is the highlight here. I used to think only big hotels served breakfast, but I was happy with the quality and variety. There was bacon, toast, scrambled eggs, and coffee, and the coffee was better than what I get at most cafes. It's a coffee hotspot. The ingredients are probably good because most seem to come from the Traders across the street. The breakfast made up for the room being a little cramped, though the room itself felt about like a standard hotel room. The bathroom sink was small and leaked, though I'm not sure if that was just our room. The owner was very kind, and they offer valet parking. I used a Stay Daejeon coupon for a 50,000 won discount, so the stay cost me almost 50,000 won and I left very satisfied. I definitely want to return on a weekday. The TV is large, and it supports Netflix and Disney. With the lights off, it feels like a movie theater. Genie lets you control the lighting, TV, and curtains. I highly recommend this place for a staycation.

The food can't match a luxury hotel's, of course, but the selection and taste are hard to beat in this price range. It's excellent value for breakfast, probably the best in the country. People are hearing about it, so getting a reservation is becoming harder. It might look like an ordinary business hotel, but if you're staying in Daejeon, it's likely the best value option.
