Hotel Stendhal

The room itself is really nice, with a big tub and a massage chair. A couple of things bothered me, though. The breakfast room is cramped, so we had to wait briefly to get in one day. Another morning, a server assumed we were finished and nudged us out, even though we could have kept eating. That felt a little rude. Also, the sheets rustle like paper when you move, which can wake you at night. Some of the front desk staff speak English.

We had a welcome drink at the bar, and the breakfast had continental choices. The massage chair in the room was nice too. It's in a pleasant part of Daejeon, with bars and restaurants close by, and it's a very nice hotel.

The staff were helpful whenever we needed them. Breakfast at the restaurant covers the basics, though it wasn't especially good. There's no pool or gym in the hotel, but Science Town is just down the street and has a spa and a very nice gym that's open 24 hours. My room's layout was odd, but the extras were far beyond what I'd expect at a US-style hotel, depending on what matters to you. I used the clothes styler to get the next day's outfit ready, and the adjustable bed and bidet were useful. The full-body massage chair was part of my bedtime routine before a shower, and even with all the walking and workouts, I wasn't sore the next morning. The shower room was huge, with enough space for a party, and there was air conditioning and an air neutralizer. The pictures were taken at the end of the stay.

The location is excellent, and the hotel is clean. Staff were friendly too.
