La Mia Hotel is decent for the price, and the location is convenient for shops, restaurants, and convenience stores. It was also fairly quiet, with both the AC and heater working well. The building felt quite worn, though, and our room smelled like cigarettes. We moved to somewhere more comfortable.

For a longer stay, LaMia worked well for us overall, and I'd consider returning or recommending it to someone needing more than a few nights. We were a family of four in September 2015, paying around 110,000W per night for a room with a living area, separate bedroom, and a western full size bed. There was no crib for our 10 month old, but Korean style bedding for sleeping on the floor was available. We asked for an extra set so each child had one, and it cost another 10,000W per night. Space for the kids to sleep on the bedroom floor was tight, but we managed. The room had a sofa and a nice TV, and the internet was very good. All the rooms we looked at had a washing machine, drying balcony, and kitchenette, with a burner, microwave, a larger than usual hotel fridge, and a few things for cooking and eating. Air conditioning was needed in early September and worked well. The heat exchanger was on the balcony, though, making it far too hot to sit out there by the table and chairs. It was still useful for drying clothes. Breakfast was served downstairs in the restaurant, which had high chairs. There was plenty to choose from, including scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal and milk, bread and jam, a rice mixture, and Korean pickled items. It got repetitive after a week. Parking was about a block away, and getting a stroller into the building meant going around back to the handicapped entrance.

The bed was really hard, but the service was very good. This place feels more modern than other hotels and has a washing machine and self-catering facilities. The location is great, with lots of shops and restaurants close by and a Starbucks across the street.

We focused on the room's looks when we arrived and missed other things we should have noticed. My daughter spilled a drink on the bed, and when I asked for fresh bedding, the answer was no. They offered blankets to cover the puddle instead. It was an uncomfortable mess, so we left after one night instead of staying two. I paid 200,000w for two rooms for two nights. The morning clerk was rude when she thought I'd let them keep half my money despite staying only one night. After speaking to her manager, she put the money on the counter and rolled her eyes. Where I'm from, that would get you cursed out. We moved to Interciti and were comfortable for the rest of our Daejeon visit. Foreigners especially, take care not to rush into choosing a room just because you're tired from exploring. You can find a decent place for 50,000w. I paid 110,000w at Interciti, which is pretty standard in USD in the US. I guess you get what you pay for.

The suite is roomy and the location is great. The cooking setup could be better, though. One induction burner just isn't enough.
