Residence Hotel Healing

For the price, this room was fantastic, especially for someone traveling alone or planning to stay a week. It has a lot of storage, a comfortable amount of space, and a shoe cabinet by the door that could fit about a dozen pairs of shoes. There's a refrigerator, stove, and washer in each room. The hotel is easy to find and close to transit and attractions. There are a few flaws: some furniture is slightly damaged, the glass backing behind the kitchenette is cracked, and the walls are thin enough that you can faintly hear sneezing, showers, and toilets flushing. Even so, it was a phenomenal room and set of amenities for the price. I was only there for one night.

The room is spacious and comes with a washing machine, a decent kitchen area, and plenty of storage. If I remember right, drying is done on the top floor, though there's a clothes rack in the room for hang drying. Check-in and checkout were both efficient, and the front desk staff were very kind. It's right by a subway station, so getting around the city is easy. The hotel is in a nice location and run by nice people. For what you pay, it's such a steal. I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone staying in or near Daejeon.

Galleria Department Store is right across the street, with lots of good restaurants, cafés, and shops within walking distance. I stayed on the third floor in a room facing the back, and there was no street noise at all. Getting there can be confusing, though: map directions may take you to the rear entrance by the parking garage. If you're arriving by cab or on foot and don't need the garage, the main road entrance is more convenient. The room was clean and functional, with a small kitchenette, refrigerator, closet, and working A/C. You can request an iron and ironing board, as they aren't provided by default. Extra towels, kitchenware, and trash bags are available in the lobby for guests to take. The bed felt like a firm spring mattress, not the most comfortable, but it didn't hurt my back or keep me from sleeping. The walls are quite thin, so you can hear voices and movement from nearby rooms and upstairs. Light sleepers may want to keep that in mind. I was in the area on business and found the stay comfortable overall. The building is definitely older, as are many places in the Dunsan area, but the hotel was clean and well maintained. The front desk staff were polite and helpful, though not especially warm. They gave me a phone charger and let me check out late, which I appreciated. I forgot to take photos, but it's a solid option if you want somewhere clean, functional, and central in Daejeon.

The room is quite spacious by Asian standards, and the price is very fair. It's in a central business district location. Soundproofing is the main drawback, since you can hear a lot from a neighbor laughing.
