I was panicking when I lost my phone on the bus, and I’m really grateful for the hotel owner’s kindness and help. They called the bus company and helped me call my phone, and luckily I found it in the end. Thanks to the owner, I got to feel the warmth and kindness of Gangneung today.

With a friend, I bounced around the hotel and took in the wide East Sea view while designing a new space for 2026. It was so wonderful.

The location and the friendly service were excellent. The facility is a little old, and the parking lot is small.

The beach is just beyond the pine forest in front, and you can watch the sunrise there. The motel is run by an elderly couple and is popular with families, with rooms for three or four people. The facilities are a bit dated, but the hot water worked well and the bathroom amenities were all stocked. On the first floor they even made me a cappuccino in the morning, a really touching gesture. I’d recommend it if you need a budget-friendly place just to sleep for a night. I’ll save nearby St. John's or Seamark for next time, when I have more money.

The parking area is tight, and there’s not much around the hotel in the way of restaurants. I also wasn’t given much guidance by the person who seemed to be helping me. The bed made noise, the pillow was so high that my neck hurt, and the bathroom sink was broken and wouldn’t drain properly. I’d asked for a room with a view and was told there’d be an extra charge, though that hadn’t been mentioned when I booked online. ㅠㅠ
