Endam Motel

The room was really small.

It’s easy to get around from here, and the price is much lower than places nearby. The motel is quite old, though it’s still in decent shape. Bring your own charger, since there isn’t one. There’s no food close by either, so pick something up in town below.

The free breakfast is a nice plus, but there are specific serving hours and I wish they had posted them. I’ve stayed twice and managed to have breakfast only once. Cleaning was really poor: there was women’s hair packed into the bathroom drain and hair on the bed. The refrigerator wasn’t cooling at all.

The barbecue service and rooftop terrace were the parts I enjoyed. From up there, I could watch the rich people eating on the sun cruise, which made me feel my own subjective poverty. But after using this place for ten years, my first visit back was a letdown. The breakfast items, like boiled eggs and corn froth, were gone, and the room was dirty, with hair and hidden fur in every corner. The sheets and blankets were stained and yellowed, and a mother spider and baby spider were living in the shower. There wasn’t even hot water.
