Gangneung Gyeongpodae Hotel Rang

Nothing fancy, just an ordinary place at a low price. The location is good, though.

After the beach closed on August 18th, I stayed here for a restful night and thought it was good value. I booked through Agoda, and the motel is near Gyeongpo Beach in Gangneung. The interior was clean, though the bathroom shower had very strong pressure. I slept really well.

The bedding was really unhygienic, and the room's cleanliness was awful despite what the sign said. I can't believe they gave a guest a room that looked completely uncleaned.

Being right across from Gyeongpo Beach is a big plus, and there are restaurants and convenience stores close by. I paid 49,500 won for a second-floor double with an ocean view and a small terrace-like spot to stand. I stayed Sunday into Monday. I could hear people talking and fireworks a little, so I imagine weekends in peak season would be noisy. The room was a decent size and felt like a renovated motel, somewhere between a motel and a tourist hotel. It was a bit worn, and the duvet and sheets were dirty, so it didn't feel especially clean, but it wasn't terrible. Most expected amenities were there. I felt sand on the floor and there were no slippers, so I asked and they brought some. Maybe the pricier, nicer rooms feel more like a hotel. With the beach location, I was satisfied.
