Picnic Motel Gangneung

I only stayed one night, and the smell in the place bothered me.

I come back here often when I'm in Gangneung because it's the best-maintained place I've found in the area. It's in Hongje-dong, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, near the Gangneung Intercity Bus Terminal. The interior is comfortable and clean, with useful amenities. Restaurants, a convenience store, and the bus terminal are all within a five-minute walk.

The bathroom looks remodeled and was clean, and the place is near the terminal. The room facilities are dated and the water pressure is weak. When the parking lot is full, you'll need to use nearby street or public parking. It's fine for the price or just for a night's sleep, but I wouldn't return.

The owner and his wife were incredibly kind, and that really stayed with me. The building looks old from outside, though the inside seems remodeled. I booked the Care Room through Yanolja Reservation for 40,000 KRW. It had a Styler and free Netflix, and both the room and bathroom with bidet were decent. There was quite a bit of dust in the corner by the bed, so the room condition wasn't great. 🙂
