We were 20 scouts travelling around South Korea while the World Scout Jamboree was happening, and this was a great place for our group. The room combinations worked for our needs, and the shared space was fantastic for meals. The pool was brilliant and gave us a much-needed break from the heat. The owners were the best part. They welcomed us and kept helping with laundry, washing up, pool toys, extra towels, drinks and snacks. Before we left, they made us a traditional Korean breakfast of dumplings.

The owner came across as chic, but was also very kind and attentive. The barbecue area had plenty of supplies, including a water purifier and different seasonings. I got a room for two in the off-season for an incredible 36,000 won. It was clean, bigger than I expected, with good heating and hot water. The soundproofing could be better.

The building isn't new, but you can tell they try to keep it clean. The towels were especially fresh and dry, washed and hung outside on a clothesline. The location works well if you're planning an outing. Soundproofing is really poor, though, I could hear the TV in the next room.

There's a coffee shop and noodle restaurant by the entrance, and the beach is only a short walk away. The view isn't much, but the place is affordable and has free karaoke. The owner is unpretentious. You'll need a reservation on weekends.

This is a budget-friendly pension about 200 meters from Wahyeon Beach. There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby, too. It has an underground karaoke room and a pool that's open in summer.
