Pension Huga

The outside looked a little worn, but inside it was pleasant and seemed well cared for. The owner was very friendly. Although it’s tucked into the far end of the city, walking down was easy. There were plenty of sushi places, cafes, and convenience stores nearby, and lots of places delivered.

Even in peak season, the price was reasonable for what you get. The view is nice, and the place is clean and neat. Parking involves leaving the car outside the building, which is a little inconvenient at busy times, but there were spaces and it wasn’t a big problem. It’s a duplex with a separate air conditioner, and the bathroom is upstairs too.

There was no bathtub, but the shower had good pressure. The toilet and shower share one room. The kitchen had all the dishes we needed and a roomy fridge. Rain left the terrace table wet, so we ate at the table attached to the kitchen instead. There are lots of hotels and guesthouses around, but I didn’t find any restaurants nearby that appealed to me.

I stayed on the second floor, and even when people downstairs were just running around, the noise carried through the whole building. Apart from the poor sound insulation between floors, it was a fairly decent place.
