Ramada Encore by Wyndham Gimpo Han River Hotel

The 10th-floor view is beautiful, but the area is quiet and short on things to do at night. The reception can call a taxi. I disliked the housekeeping staff most: I pressed the room-cleaning request button, but they seemed not to care and cleaned anyway. On B1 there’s a gym, a pretty good breakfast restaurant, and a convenience store open 24 hours. There’s also a fried chicken place serving beer in the evenings until midnight.

A decent breakfast and a convenient location for shoppers, but maintenance needs attention. The rooms are okay, though the bathrooms are poorly kept, with broken tiles and no standard automated toilet bowl. It works as a place to stay if you can live with dated facilities.

The whole stay felt strange and uncomfortable. The motion-sensor lights kept switching on and off by themselves, and the toilet tap suddenly turned on as if someone were playing with the water. I heard things falling, but nothing had fallen when I checked. After waking up and going to the bathroom, I found the floor wet, as though someone had just used it. The hotel felt haunted and mysterious.

For the price, the hotel was great for our sports tournament. It’s in the middle of nowhere, and getting an Uber is difficult, but there’s a huge outlet mall across the street and a couple of great restaurants across the river, about a 10-minute walk away.
