The room was warm and spacious, with a balcony, and the large bed made it good value. There are also ondol-style beds if you have more people. The spa stays open until midnight. The bathroom only had a bar of soap, no shampoo. The karaoke room was unavailable because the attendant had left, and we didn’t know when they’d return. The cafe downstairs was great, but it wasn’t open on our first day. You can walk to the resort without bags, or wait for the shuttle if you have luggage, though it takes a while. There was no kakao taxi service at this location, and we couldn’t get a taxi with trunk space at the train station, so we walked. It was a bit far and the road felt dangerous.

Good value, close to High1 Resort and the shuttle, with a sauna and convenience store nearby. The main annoyance was the noise from the corridor, including people walking in ski shoes and chatting outside the room opposite ours. The lift wait was a little frustrating too. During much of the day it was packed, so we sometimes had to wait a few minutes. The parking area could use more space.

The Oak room has a separate bedroom and lounge, which is convenient, and there’s plenty of space. The kitchen is small but does the job for self-catering. The bathroom was clean and had a nice shower. Bring your own soap, shampoo, and other toiletries, since they aren’t provided here like they are elsewhere in Korea. High1 ski resort is close by.

If you’re fond of waking up to the smell of napalm, this might be your place. Our room on a middle floor, along with the lobby, elevators, and corridors, was soaked in the greasy, stale smell from the fried chicken restaurant in the lobby. It got much worse when the restaurant opened, which was well into the night, and the odor had already sunk into every soft surface and lingered in the air all the time. We pleaded to move to a higher floor or somewhere farther from the smell, even offering to pay extra. They offered us a second-floor room directly above the chicken restaurant. Seriously? Opening the main window for air brought in loud highway traffic, and cigarette smoke kept drifting in despite the no-smoking policy. Housekeeping was basically nonexistent. I asked for extra soap and never got it, while used linens and towels sat in the corridor late into the night. On top of that, heavy footsteps and voices came through the floors and walls late at night. One star for the plumbing working.
