You & I Pension

The reservation site's attractive photos seem to show just one nice room on the first floor, which is for groups and costs a lot. The room I got felt worse than a motel. The TV didn't work and seemed to be there just for show, and the refrigerator was tiny, like a motel fridge. The towels were a little dried out, and the blanket smelled as if it had been washed a while ago.

I visited in February and was cold. The floor never warmed up, and they said there was nothing they could do because the heating covers the whole floor rather than being controlled room by room. The electric blanket didn't seem to spread the heat well either.

The room hadn't been cleaned well, and there were no towels or toilet paper, so we had to ask for them. We ended up using towels we'd brought and left as soon as we woke up. My husband and I found the place so dirty and unpleasant that we couldn't sleep under the covers. There was no parking lot, since a children's pool had been put there, and they simply told us to find a spot nearby ourselves.

We were pushed into booking for 7-8 people even though there wasn't a room that could actually accommodate that many. There wasn't enough floor space for eight to sleep, so they put us in a room meant for 3-4 and charged extra for the additional guests. In December, with temperatures below freezing, the boiler was turned off at 10 PM. We spent the night on a cold floor. The soundproofing was awful: until 3 or 4 AM, we could hear the next room drinking and talking clearly enough to make out the conversation, and even hear someone coughing. There also seemed to be a karaoke room in the basement, with loud music vibrating through the building. They call it a pension, but the parking only fits six cars despite there being at least ten rooms. We were sent to the public lot below because parking is limited, and guests have to handle parking there themselves. The building is surrounded by private properties, and we were told not to make noise late at night. How does a motel-like place boxed in by other buildings qualify as a pension? Worst, worst, worst, worst. Even one star is too much.
