For a budget stay, this was hard to beat. The room and everything in it worked well, and both were better than I expected for the price. In Gwangju, I saw few cheaper options that weren't a hostel or a "love motel." The location was good too, within walking distance of the metro. The main drawback was communication: most of the staff spoke little English. The person who checked me in, whom I saw now and then during my stay, spoke fantastic English, but with the others it was hit or miss. Breakfast was another weak spot. It's free, but basic, with little variety, and if you come down late some items may already be gone. Given the budget price, it's hard to complain much about that. If you're watching your spending, this is about as good as it gets. It's also a nice place if you can spend a bit more. Highly recommended.

There can be some noise at night, but it comes with the character of this very safe area. The location is excellent for buses, the subway, and nearby restaurants. My room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was continental, with cereal, soup, eggs to cook yourself, sausage, fruit, toast, coffee, and juice. Korean hotels assign their own star ratings, so the system isn't regulated. I'd call this an excellent 3-star hotel, or an average 4-star one.

The hotel is now called "Bolton Hotel". Our room for three was quite exceptional for the price, despite the extra charge for having more than two people: ￦15,000 per extra person. It isn't a hidden fee, but it's easy to miss while booking. The rooms are clean and spacious, with good soundproofing, and breakfast was included. It's centrally located, with lots of places nearby to eat or get coffee. I'd consider staying again, and it seems like a good choice for families or guests with kids.

The owner was kind, and we're grateful for that. We stayed here after surgery during a cold winter, and the room stayed so warm. We had a very comfortable time and really liked the hotel. Thank you!

We had a great night's stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, with all the necessary equipment and then some. Breakfast was nice, including real orange juice. The staff were kind and helpful, and the prices were reasonable.
