The host was awesome, and the place was very clean. From the express bus station at U-square, take line 30 or 48 to NC department store. It takes around 10 to 15 minutes. Definitely a must-stay in Gwangju :)

A simple, typical Korean home with a lovely little garden. The owner was kind, and everything was clean.
The owner of the house is so friendly.
Staying in the dorm felt more like being in a homestay than a hostel. The owner was friendly, the beds and interior were clean, and breakfast and water were free. There’s a convenience store nearby, with several coffee chains within walking distance. The upper bunk has no curtain, and there’s no light at each bed. The WiFi was a bit unreliable. The neighborhood is quiet, but the subway station is a bit of a walk, so I mostly took the bus.
The landlord’s wife keeps the place clean. It’s a Korean family home run as an Airbnb or guesthouse, and they say you can rent the whole house. Breakfast is toast, cereal, milk, and fried eggs. I was satisfied overall, though the bed creaked a lot. The dorm is on the second floor, while the shared bathroom is downstairs by the stairs, which was a little inconvenient.
