The housekeepers and reception staff were absolute gems, so friendly, and the place was spotless. I also liked that the bedding and towels didn't have that sterile hotel smell. The room was a bit small, though, and the basic toiletries were nearly nonexistent. The shampoo left my hair dry and crunchy, so I'd grab a cheap bottle from the local servo. Bathroom ventilation and soundproofing were awful too. If you're sharing the room, the other person will hear everything. That really needs fixing.

I spent five nights in the "King Suite," probably the best place I've stayed in Gwangju. It was clean, spacious, and modern, with extra workspace in the living room. The Wi-Fi was great, as you'd expect in South Korea, and the staff were accommodating, though some may not be very comfortable speaking English. One thing that disturbed my attempts to sleep was the light control panel: switching everything on or off caused clicking sounds in the ceiling or walls for a while. In my opinion, a taxi is the most efficient way to get there. Tell the driver "Ramada Plaza Chungjangno" because there's another Ramada Plaza in Seo-gu on the opposite side of the city.

If it's your first visit to Kwang-Ju, South Korea, this could be a good hotel to stay at. The place is clean and well organized, and the English-speaking staff make things easy.

There's no privacy at all in the transparent bathroom, the mattress is hard as a rock, and the A/C doesn't work.
