It can be a little hard to find, but it’s definitely worth it. The guesthouse is great value for the price, with big, clean rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and all-day breakfast: eggs, rice, toast, cereal, hash browns, coffee, tea, and juice. The owner is really friendly and happy to help with suggestions whenever you need them. It’s also incredibly convenient, very close to public transport. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Gwangju.

Coming back to a comfortable, homely room after exploring Gwangju was lovely. I’ve visited local markets, fashion streets, and national parks, and even ran along the river. The owner suggested a national park about an hour away by local bus when I said I wanted to hike. He was friendly, gave me a little care package, and often checked if I needed anything. I’ve enjoyed the eggs, cereal, noodles, juice, and cooking facilities. This isn’t a five-star resort, but parts of it reminded me of home. I’ve had an awesome three-night stay and will miss this place. I’d happily recommend this homestay to anyone coming to Gwangju.
