C Motel

The owner was friendly and helpful, and I wish I could rate this higher, but I didn't feel comfortable in this guesthouse. I booked because the shared area looked so nice in the photos, and it really is beautifully decorated. The room, though, was almost awful. I knew I'd booked the smallest one, but it felt nearly claustrophobic, with nowhere for my luggage or clothes. The bed was just a mattress on the floor, with only a blanket and a sheet over the mattress, so it felt like I needed to bring my own bedding. The room also hadn't been cleaned properly. The floor was filthy and there was toothpaste still on the washbasin. They provide only a few small towels, though they are changed daily, and there are very few amenities, just soap and shampoo. No water. Breakfast was very basic, just toast, jam, butter, cereal, and coffee, and you have to wash the dishes yourself. There's no elevator. I wouldn't recommend this guesthouse, and I'll choose somewhere else when I return to Gyeongju.
