CIEL Motel

I picked this place because it had a bathtub, even though the building feels dated and there are no newer-style tubs beyond that. It’s the CL unmanned motel in Gyeongju, and the location is fine, but self-service motels may feel uncomfortable if you haven’t used one before. Getting to the reception can be a bit awkward. The sheets aren’t standard ones, so it’s hard to tell whether they’ve been changed, which feels unsettling. Noise from next door carries clearly. There are only a few outlets and they’re inconveniently placed, which could be a hassle on a business trip. The drinks selection is varied, but not what I’d choose, with a few brands I’d never heard of. Yanolja rated it 4.5, and to me it’s around that level or a little lower.

The place looks just like the photos, and it’s clean and really nice. Since check-in is self-service, I had a little trouble reaching reception. The nearest convenience store or supermarket is somewhat far, so if you drink a lot of water, bring plenty ahead of time.

The duplex layout made the room feel roomy, though I didn’t feel the cleaning was thorough enough.

It’s private, the interior looks nice, and there’s a guaranteed parking spot for each room. Super clean!!!
