Gampo Eunsol Family Pension

This place is on the coastal road by Gampo Pine Forest, right beside Black Sand Beach. During a few days of family travel around Gyeongju, I looked for an affordable place for our last night and ended up here. Many guests stayed up late barbecuing and drinking, and the soundproofing wasn't great, so sleeping well was difficult. It reminded me how important proper accommodations are. Gyeongju has lots of historic sites and many foreign visitors. Maybe because it's such a tourist destination, both lodging and meals felt a bit expensive.

Just 2 minutes from the Haeparang Trail, this was great value for my stay while walking it. The place is spacious, clean, bright, and cool, and the owner is friendly.

It's comfortable enough to sleep in, but the bathroom smells terrible. The food waste recycling bin was filthy and covered in flies in the morning. There's a rice field in front, and a strong sewer smell.

The place is cramped and old, with too few amenities, so staying here is really inconvenient. Heating works well, but eating is awkward and they should probably provide a table. It's noisy, too. They gave us just one thin blanket, and the two of us barely managed to sleep using the one blanket we brought.
