Gyeongju Hanok Kkotjam Pension

By the end of the evening, we were peeling back the charred skins of the sweet potatoes and finding soft yellow centers. We’d wrapped them in foil and put them over the fire, then talked and sang while they cooked. Earlier, we’d set out folding chairs and a little outdoor table beside the tripod grill, lit the oak wood we brought, and watched it catch. A stepping stone crosses the tidy yard at Kkotjam Pension, and the whole night in that beautiful hanok became a memory I won’t forget.
