Great.
The entrance was a bit rough, but I could have overlooked that if the room had been nice. Instead, the cleaning was poor: the floor was slippery, dead bugs were scattered around, and the bedroom felt damp. When I ran water into the jacuzzi, grease and bugs floated in it. I had to rinse it myself with hot water and ended up dipping only my feet in. Maybe it’s hard to clean because there’s no shower head in the jacuzzi. You can’t adjust its water temperature, which is always hot, and it fills slowly. You need to fill it well in advance and let it cool for at least an hour or an hour and a half. This was far more disappointing than other places I’ve stayed, and I regret making the trip. Unless running a hospitality business is just a hobby, they should spend more time cleaning.
We enjoyed the sunrise as a family, and the caretaker helped us park properly in front of the pension. My parents liked the bedroom with the direct sea view. The waves weren’t loud, but they could fall asleep to the sound like a lullaby. The layout was unusual in a way my child loved, and with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, everyone enjoyed the stay. It’s a place I’d recommend to people I know, and worth visiting at least once. We booked Room B201 for the Chuseok holiday, a large room for eight people in the 300,000 won range. After 12 hours in traffic, we found two bathtubs that were a little small to call pools. My child was excited and turned on the water right away, but there was no hot water because a staff member was on vacation. We were flustered and boiled water to pour in bit by bit, then waited two hours until we could use hot water at 9 PM. That was ridiculous. The place was very clean. The towels and white bedding smelled fresh, and there wasn’t a single hair in sight. I’d heard about bugs, but saw just one or two, the sort you find anywhere, though they were particular to the seaside. Unless you’re terrified of bugs, it’s fine. Some fixtures are old, and I noticed rust on the shower connections, but it didn’t cause problems and everything was usable. There were plenty of reviews mentioning old facilities, but I was satisfied with the cleanliness.
I picked this place for the view, and it was great for that. It feels like a restaurant with a view, and I’d recommend it if scenery matters to you. There are some bugs and a few facilities are dated. Public transport is poor, so I wouldn’t suggest it if you’re walking, but it’s worth visiting by car. There’s also a wild sashimi farm within walking distance, which was nice.
