The host is friendly and tries to answer questions, but he's very intense and intrusive. He checks in constantly whenever you're around, so there's little privacy. Each day starts at 8 o'clock with him knocking until you wake up and answer his morning greeting. I wish we'd known about all this beforehand. We stayed three nights, hoping for a relaxing time in a traditional Korean house. The renovated hanok has some nice rooms, but there was mold in places like the tea room and bathroom. The heater for showers is turned off every day, so there's no warm water between 10am and 6pm. Our private bathroom was across the yard, in very bad shape, with just hand towels, no window or ventilation, and only one light bulb. Checking out was the worst part. We planned to leave at 10, but were asked several times to go earlier. At 9:55 the host pushed us out and shut the door right away to start cleaning.

We were almost alone during our one-night stay, and the place was quiet, with no outside noise and just birds in the morning. I can imagine it getting noisier when fully booked, since the walls are very thin in this old Korean house. It's a beautiful renovated traditional Korean home, and the city highlights are easy to reach on foot. The owner was super nice and helpful, very energetic about showing us around and explaining where to go and how to get there. We had a lovely stay and highly recommend it.

The hosts really made our stay. They were friendly, attentive, helpful, charming, and fun to talk with, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They even made us breakfast, though we hadn't paid for it. The Hanok-style building is lovely. The shower was hot and nice, and while there's no AC, the rooms stayed decently cool. We could walk to lots of places, and getting a cab was easy when it rained, as it did for us. Hope to visit again soon!

Mr. And Mrs Jung made me feel at home. I had a great night in Gyeongju and will definitely come back and stay here!

The hanok was charming and very well kept. I especially appreciated how well sealed it was. Spiders aren't uncommon in the city, but I didn't see a single bug inside. We stayed one night in July. The host was incredibly nice, recommended places to visit and eat, and gave us breakfast even though it wasn't part of our booking.
