Clint was such a warm, friendly, and knowledgeable host. He greeted us cheerfully as soon as we arrived and quickly brought out a map marked with personal tips and recommendations, which we really appreciated. The location is hard to beat, close to the bus station, main town, sights, and river. This was one of our favourite stays. The hostel was clean and comfortable, and felt like home. The decor isn't especially modern, and there are lots of trinkets, but it all fits the place and adds to its charm. We loved the photos, objects, and reading material, and could tell many generations of travellers had come through over the years. We booked through Airbnb, and Clint was quick to respond. We accidentally missed the deadline to leave a review there, so we hope this shares how good our stay was. Thank you, Clint!

The host was welcoming and friendly, and gave me good suggestions for places to go. I had a great base for my trip. The hostel is quiet, easy to reach from the bus station, and about a 15-minute walk from the center of the attractions. I was the only guest in a four-bed room, and maybe in the whole place, though it is still operating. The hostel is turning 50, and its age shows: heated floors in the rooms, wood-paneled halls, and a light switch outside the room. It has an old-town Korea feel, and I think it may also be the host's home. There are old books and magazines, a whiteboard with traveler messages, and plenty of other objects that seem to have been sitting there for years. The place feels full of stories and history. It isn't ideal if you want modern hotel convenience, and it could be difficult when crowded since there are only two showers. But if you'd like a cool, historical place full of antiques for your Gyeongju trip, this would be a good choice.

Clint, the owner, is the coolest man in all of South Korea! This is the best hostel ever if you're after somewhere quiet and safe that feels like a backpacker's haven. Just know it's very old-school and no-frills.

The host was incredibly kind and helpful, and his English was the best I'd come across among Koreans so far. He gave me lots of help and thoughtful advice during my time in gyeongju. It's a warm, tiny hostel with a cozy, lovely room. I had a really nice stay, and you can meet friends and enjoy your time here. I highly recommend it. This is a traditional Korean hostel with Korean-style hospitality, and the best hostel in gyeongju.

Being so close to the bus terminal made it easy to get to and from anywhere in gyeongju. I loved the interior, with all the testimonials and photos from people who'd stayed before. It felt like home, not just somewhere to sleep. The owner was so warm and made me feel as if he'd known me for years. One of my best stays in Korea. The place's slogan says, 'if you haven't stayed at hanjin then you haven't been to gyeongju', and it's true.
